Dr. Jared Wilson graduated medical school in 2016, and went on to complete residency and a fellowship in Interventional Pain Management. He is board certified in PM&R, and board eligible for Interventional Pain Management (which he will complete in 2023).
Prior to entering medical school, Dr. Wilson was a Certified Athletic Trainer for a Physical Therapist for 6 years. During that time he learned that he enjoyed continuity and working with a person in order to achieve a better life. In his 4th year of medical school he had the opportunity to do a PM&R rotation and realized it was similar to athletic training in terms of continuity and relationship with patients, which was exactly what he wanted from his career in medicine.
Dr. Wilson believes meaningful and proactive care looks at the whole person and works to address their needs holistically so they can live fulfilling and productive lives. This holistic approach takes into consideration everything that impacts a patient’s wellness and recovery – including their caregivers, their environment, psychosocial influences, social support, family support, and job support.
Dr. Wilson has been married to his wife, Adrian, for 15 years and together they share one son who is now 12 years old. A man of many hobbies, Dr. Wilson is a blacksmith, bladesmith, competitive shooter, and overall outdoorsman who loves to camp, hunt, and hang with his family and rescue greyhounds.
Dr. Bennet Davis, MD is an Anesthesiology Specialist in Tucson, AZ and has over 32 years of experience in the medical field. He graduated from University of California At Irvine / California College of Medicine & Surgery in 1990.
I chose pain management because I wanted a specialty that allowed me to be hands-on with my patient care. It is extremely rewarding to help my patients “get moving” and live more mobile, happy lives.
I specialize in many different pain management techniques, both minimally-invasive and otherwise, including injections, radiofrequency ablation (RFA) and spinal cord stimulation, along with other advanced techniques like Kyphoplasty, Interspinous Spacers and SI joint fusions. I work with my patients on an individualized treatment plan and lay out their options to help them make informed decisions about their own health.
My patients would say that I genuinely care, listen to their needs, and that I am eager to help them become more functional. I am committed to helping my patients manage their pain through a combination of treatments to deliver lasting results.
I believe a multimodal process of care is crucial when it comes to pain management. Shots and medication help manage pain, but rehabilitative techniques (yoga, meditation, walking) are also highly important in the management of pain. “Motion is lotion” is a motto I often use, meaning: The more you move your body, the more you get what you need to stay healthy and active.
Outside of work, I enjoy cooking and spending time outside with my wife and kids, whether it be hiking, bicycling, playing tennis, or exploring with our dogs. I’m also a huge college sports fan.
Kyle has lived in the Sierra Vista area on and off since 1986 so he knows and loves the area well. Having worked in Acute and Intensive Care as well as a Cardiac Cath Lab before beginning work as a Certified Nurse Practitioner. Kyle received his bachelors and Masters from Grand Canyon University before moving back to Sierra Vista.
Kyle has a vision for treating the patient, not the symptom, and believes that spending time with people in order to truly hear them is the only way to provide care. Kyle is ethical, hard-working, and a beloved part of his patients’ lives.
He enjoys working out, spending time with his 3 kids and sports in general.
Maureen Bay is a certified nurse practitioner and has been serving her community by providing excellent nursing care in Sierra Vista for over 12 years. Her dream of being in the medical field began when she attended Cochise College where she earned her degree as a registered nurse. She began her career working in a hospital setting caring for patients of all ages. After dedicating several years to bedside nursing, Maureen decided to pursue a career as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She attended Grand Canyon University where she earned a Masters in Science Degree in Family Nurse Practitioner. Maureen is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the American Nursing Association. In her spare time, Maureen enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Meryl Ortiz is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner Specialist, with nearly 10 years of experience in medicine. Meryl worked for many years in NICU and ICU, before transitioning over to Pulmonology. Though Meryl loved both areas of nursing, she was attracted to PM&R medicine because it gives you the opportunity to help people and truly see progress from one visit to the next.
During her time in the NICU, she worked with neonatal withdrawal and was a part of a research study that weaned babies off morphine quicker, using soothing techniques in place of medication. This allowed her to see not only the harm done by over-medication but the beauty of holistic care, and alternative modalities to treatment.
Meryl is married with 2 step-children. In her free time she enjoys riding her mountain bike and spending time with her family.
Prior to becoming a Physician Assistant, I spent 6 years in the Navy and many years as a first responder/EMT/firefighter. I have always been passionate about helping others and actually worked with Dr. Bhola for 20 years prior to moving to Desert Sky.
I will be able to help facilitate the practice in the area of medical management, trigger point injections, peripheral nerve blocks, joint and bursa injections, along with PRP (platelet rich plasma) therapy. A multimodal approach is best with pain management, including PT, acupuncture, SCS, injections, medication, and other evidence-based treatments.
I enjoy talking to my patients, and they would say I have a great bedside manner. I enjoy helping my patients become more functional and give them long-lasting pain management results.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and cycling. Having been in Southern Arizona for over 20 years, I love all the outdoor activities!
Judy Stannard worked as an Orthopedic Physical Therapist for nearly 20 years before advancing to a career as a Physician Assistant. She graduated from Quinnipiac University’s Physician Assistant program With Distinction in 2002 and continued to treat patients with spine and extremity joint problems. After working with a Hand and Elbow surgeon for 17 years in Connecticut, Judy relocated to Oro Valley, where she has worked in both Pain Management and Orthopedics. Judy believes that patients who are educated as to the origin of their pain can better help themselves outside the clinic with proper body mechanics and other techniques to minimize pain and gradually improve function. Better function means a better life. When she is not helping patients, Judy enjoys regular exercise, hiking, nature, and spending time with her dog.
