At Desert Sky Spine and Pain, Dr. Prust uses a combination of treatments to deliver lasting results. He knows that opioid medications and invasive surgeries aren’t always the right choice, so he specializes in unique strategies to safely reduce patients’ pain levels.

Dr. Prust completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California. He worked as an engineer for several years before eventually pursuing a career in medicine. Dr. Prust earned his medical degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine. After graduation, he completed an anesthesiology residency and pain medicine fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.

Throughout his training, Dr. Prust earned recognition for being a diligent and caring physician. Consequently, he won the Fellow of the Year award, among other honors. Dr. Jared Wilson, MD

Double-Board Certified (PM&R & Pain)

Dr. Jared Wilson earned his medical degree in 2016 and went on to complete both residency and fellowship training in Interventional Pain Management. He is double board certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) and Interventional Pain Management.

Before pursuing a career in medicine, Dr. Wilson spent six years working as a Certified Athletic Trainer alongside a physical therapist. This experience sparked his passion for continuity of care and helping individuals improve their quality of life over time. During his fourth year of medical school, he completed a PM&R rotation and discovered that the specialty’s focus on long-term patient relationships and functional restoration closely mirrored his work in athletic training—solidifying his decision to pursue PM&R.

Dr. Wilson takes a holistic, patient-centered approach to care. He believes that meaningful, proactive treatment must address the whole person—not just the symptoms. His philosophy considers all aspects that affect a patient’s recovery and well-being, including caregiver dynamics, environmental and psychosocial factors, as well as social, family, and occupational support systems.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Wilson is a man of many hobbies. He is an avid blacksmith and bladesmith, a competitive shooter, and a dedicated outdoorsman who enjoys camping, hunting, and spending quality time with his family and rescue greyhounds.

Dr. Khushvant Bhola, MD

Hands-on, relational approach to medicine

I chose pain management because I wanted a specialty that allowed me to be hands-on with my patient care. It is extremely rewarding to help my patients “get moving” and live more mobile, happy lives.

I specialize in many different pain management techniques, both minimally-invasive and otherwise, including injections, radiofrequency ablation (RFA) and spinal cord stimulation, along with other advanced techniques like Kyphoplasty, Interspinous Spacers and SI joint fusions. I work with my patients on an individualized treatment plan and lay out their options to help them make informed decisions about their own health.

My patients would say that I genuinely care, listen to their needs, and that I am eager to help them become more functional. I am committed to helping my patients manage their pain through a combination of treatments to deliver lasting results.

I believe a multimodal process of care is crucial when it comes to pain management. Shots and medication help manage pain, but rehabilitative techniques (yoga, meditation, walking) are also highly important in the management of pain. “Motion is lotion” is a motto I often use, meaning: The more you move your body, the more you get what you need to stay healthy and active.

Outside of work, I enjoy cooking and spending time outside with my wife and kids, whether it be hiking, bicycling, playing tennis, or exploring with our dogs. I’m also a huge college sports fan.

Judy Stannard PA-C, B.S. PT

Improving Function in Sports, Spine, Muscle & Joint Care

Judy Stannard worked as an Orthopedic Physical Therapist for nearly 20 years before advancing to a career as a Physician Assistant. She graduated from Quinnipiac University’s Physician Assistant program With Distinction in 2002 and continued to treat patients with spine and extremity joint problems. After working with a Hand and Elbow surgeon for 17 years in Connecticut, Judy relocated to Oro Valley, where she has worked in both Pain Management and Orthopedics. Judy believes that patients who are educated as to the origin of their pain can better help themselves outside the clinic with proper body mechanics and other techniques to minimize pain and gradually improve function. Better function means a better life. When she is not helping patients, Judy enjoys regular exercise, hiking, nature, and spending time with her dog.

Kenneth Judkins, PA-C

Hands on, relational approach to medicine

Prior to becoming a Physician Assistant, I spent 6 years in the Navy and many years as a first responder/EMT/firefighter. I have always been passionate about helping others and actually worked with Dr. Bhola for 20 years prior to moving to Desert Sky.

I will be able to help facilitate the practice in the area of medical management, trigger point injections, peripheral nerve blocks, joint and bursa injections, along with PRP (platelet rich plasma) therapy. A multimodal approach is best with pain management, including PT, acupuncture, SCS, injections, medication, and other evidence-based treatments.

I enjoy talking to my patients, and they would say I have a great bedside manner. I enjoy helping my patients become more functional and give them long-lasting pain management results.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and cycling. Having been in Southern Arizona for over 20 years, I love all the outdoor activities!
