Nerve Stimulation
A peripheral nerve stimulator is like a TENS unit for your nerves. This unit is implanted near the source of pain to disrupt pain signals through an electric pulse.
Nerve stimulation provides something like a distraction to nerves that are sending constant pain signals to the brain. It can cause a tingling sensation, but doesn’t have to. Patients who receive this treatment have a remote that can control the frequency of impulses, either throughout the day to help manage pain or as needed when pain increases.
We love that this can give patients a sense of control over their pain while weaning from (or removing) pain medication from their daily life. Our goal is to help you become as mobile as you want to be so the body can continue to repair and rebuild itself. This is a great way for patients to achieve pain relief with a very minimally invasive procedure.
Anyone who has neuropathic pain (pain from the nerves themselves).
