Toradol Injections
Toradol is a very strong nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID). We typically use this method in conjunction with Trigger Point injections, though it can be used by itself to calm an inflamed muscle, when that is the source of the pain. This injection is delivered into the gluteus medius for optimal uptake
NSAIDs are designed to reduce inflammation in the body, which is a common cause of pain. Toradol gives near immediate relief to patients without altering their state of mind like an opiate based therapy would (morphine, codeine, vicodin).
We like that toradol is a non-opioid option to address sudden severe pain. Toradol is non-addictive and helps calm muscles quickly, so spasmodic events don’t have to mean time off of work or play. When you know pain, you know quick relief can be a game changer.
This is an incredibly effective treatment for muscle spasms and flare ups. For some people these happen sporadically. For athletes this can be brought on by an increase in training load. Because Toradol is an NSAID, it complies with competition rules while helping return athletes back to a state in which they are able to perform.
